Some apps prefer specific formats, but QuickTime movie files (.mov), most MPEG files (.mp4,.m4v,.m4a,.mp3,.mpg), some AVI and WAV files, and many other formats usually work in most apps without additional software. With iOS 14.5 (and watchOS 7.4), you have the option to make your iPhone work like your Mac does, and automatically unlock when you're wearing an unlocked Apple Watch.

SMS and MMS messaging requires an activated carrier plan on any iPhone using iOS 8.1 or later. You can then send and receive SMS and MMS messages from these devices:

- Any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iOS 8 or later.
Universal Clipboard
Universal Clipboard works with these devices and operating systems when copying text, images, photos, and video from one Apple device to another.
